Bury St Edmunds-based Servest wins London Business School cleaning contract

Suffolk-based facilities management specialist Servest Group has won a three-year contract to provide cleaning services for the London Business School.

A 50-strong team from Servest will provide cleaning, consumables and waste services for the school, which is a constituent college of the University of London.

Servest, which is based at Fornham All Saints, near Bury St Edmunds, was awarded the contract following a competitive tender process which included a number of site visits to showcase Servest’s expertise at existing clients’ sites as well as a formal submission and a presentation.

A spokesman for the business school said it had been looking for a service partner that could drive standards in order to continuously improve the on-campus facilities.

“Demonstrating expertise and understanding of the institution’s needs, Servest’s pitch successfully demonstrated a commitment to employee development and best practice performance, he added.

“In addition, the service provider highlighted the innovative ways it would go about controlling the waste streams throughout the campus.”

Servest, which is 73% owned by South Africa-based Servest Group PTY with the remainder owned by the UK management team, employs more than 18,000 people at more than 7,000 sites across the UK.

Rob Legge, Servest’s chief executive for the UK and Europe, said: “This contract with London Business School – one of the best business schools in Europe – will give Servest an enhanced presence in the education sector. We are looking forward to raising the standards with this hugely prestigious organisation.”
