An Ipswich Waterfront café has reopened with a fresh new look.

Cargo café in the University of Suffolk Waterfront Building relaunched on Monday, April 16, with Paddy and Scott’s coffee and some “significant” moves towards sustainability.

Contract caterer Vertas, which produces 40,000 meals a day, says 72% of its ingredients are sourced within 50 miles of Ipswich and virtually everything else is traceable from farm to fork.

Earl Soham-based Paddy and Scott’s has introduced recyclable coffee packaging as standard.

Paddy and Scott’s chief executive Scott Russell said: “Students at the University of Suffolk have one of the best views from which to study and enjoy a post-lecture coffee and I couldn’t be happier that it’ll be a Paddy and Scott’s coffee.”

Keith Buet, group operations director at Vertas Group, said he was delighted to have joined up with the firm for the relaunch.

“This landmark building deserves a strong brand, and in Paddy and Scott’s we’ve found a partner which shares our values of sustainability and integrity,” he said.
