REGIONAL insurance broker and financial planner Alan Boswell Group has expanded into the Peterborough area with two acqusitions.

The group, which already has offices in Bury St Edmunds, Ely, Norwich, Attleborough and London, has acquired the Peterborough office of Sutcliffe Insurance Brokers and Bentley Charles Insurance Services, based in Market Deeping.

The Peterborough office of Sutcliffe, which was previously known as Weller Russell & Laws, has been re-branded under the Alan Boswell Group identity while Bentley Charles will continue to trade under its current name.

Alan Boswell Group is retaining all of the staff, a total of 13 employees across the two brokers, who will join the company’s existing 200 staff across East Anglia.

Alan Boswell, managing director of Alan Boswell Group, said: “These are two businesses which are performing well, with a combined premium income of approximately £2.5million, and are a good fit for our expansion across the region.

“We will be taking on all the staff from both offices and welcome them to the group. We are looking forward to building our profile in Peterborough, assisting existing clients and attracting new ones.”

Established in 1982, the group offers a wide range of insurance broking and financial services from landlords’ insurance and self-drive hire to pensions, protection and investment advice.
