East Anglia: Genesis leads the way with eight nominations in the 2014 regional CIPR PRide Awards

More than 30 public relations teams, consultancies and individuals have been shortlisted in the CIPR Anglia, Thames and Chiltern round of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations’ PRide Awards.

The englarged regional contest, which brings together the CIPR’s East Anglia and Thames & Chiltern groups, is taking place for the first time this year,

Leading the way, with a total of eight nominations, is Genesis PR, based at Holbrook, near Ipswich. Genesis is in the running for the main Outstanding public relations consultancy award and is also shortlisted in the categories for Corporate and business communications Campaign, Not for profit campaign, Public sector campaign, Low budget campaign, Best use of media relations, Integrated campaign and Best event.

The other leading contender from the East Anglia region is Jungle PR, from Yaxham in Norfolk, which is nominated in the Not for profit campaign, Integrated campaign and Outstanding small consultancy categories.

There are also two nominations each for Pier Marketing from Felixstowe, for Best use of media relations and Outstanding public relations consultancy; Essex County Council, Public sector campaign and Outstanding young communicator (Jess Baldwin); Shorthose Russell from Norwich, Integrated campaign and Best event; and Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Best Event and Best Use of Media Relations.

Other nominees from the eastern region include: Crafted from Ipswich (Integrated campaign); Montage Communications, Bury St Edmunds (Outstanding small consultancy); NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney Clinical Commissioning Group, Beccles (Best Event); the University of East Anglia, Norwich (Outstanding young communicator − Lucy Clegg); Reflection PR, Norwich (Not for profit campaign); Mobas, Cambridge (Outstanding public relations consultancy); the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire (Best publication); and PJ Care, Peterborough (Low budget campaign).

Kate Morfoot, who chairs of the CIPR East Anglia group and is managing director of Jungle PR, said: “This year’s entries were all of an incredibly high standard, highlighting the industry-leading work from our region that is taking place right across the UK.

“I would like to congratulate all of those who have been shortlisted for an award; their success demonstrates their exemplary achievements in such a thriving profession.”

The results of the 2014 CIPR Anglia, Thames and Chiltern PRide Awards will be announced at a black tie awards night on Friday, November 7 at Cambridge City Hotel, with BBC Radio 5 Live’s Peter Alan as master of ceremonies.
