MOVES to map out the scale of East Anglia’s energy industry were outlined today the SNS conference today.
Professional advisors PwC is teaming up with law firm Mills and Reeve to look at the businesses across the region and the issues and challenges the face.
Both firms currently help to produce the EDP/EADT Top 100 listing of businesses in Norfolk and Suffolk, which includes seven energy companies.
However, the scale and impact of businesses operating here is expected to be much greater.
Craig Douglas from PwC said the survey would cover four main areas including the threats and opportunities facing businesses.
Researchers from the UEA will also be involved in the project as well as RBS.
“We will be looking at trends to see what businesses are saying in the region as well as what obstacles they are encountering,” he added.
The survey, which will be sent out in the next three weeks, will feature all companies operating in the region, including those whose main operations are elsewhere. The results are expected to be available in the autumn.
Today is the second day of the East of England Energy Group’s SNS conference in Norwich, which is highlighting the opportunities available in the Southern North Sea primarily around the gas and renewable industries.
