A Suffolk bed and breakfast business has received a “Favourite Newcomer” award after securing a place in a top guide book.
Camomile Cottage at Eye, run by Tim and Aly Kahane, is one of three winners in the Favourite Newcomers category following the launch of Sawday’s new Special Places to Stay British Bed & Breakfast publication with lists 700 of the country’s finest B&Bs.
Alastair Sawday, founder of the guide, said: “The three winners of the Favourite Newcomers award are shining examples of what makes a Sawday’s B&B special − individuality, an open-house feel and owners who love what they do.
“Camomile Cottage is a feast of antiques, art and homemade delights. Aly and Tim greet you with tea and cakes and go the extra mile to ensure a spoiling stay.”
The other winners in the Favourite Newcomers category are The Rising Sun in Wimbledon and Stokenham House in Kingsbridge, Devon.
The awards, which also involved the selection of three winners in other categories including “Old Favourites”, “Most Praised Breakfast” and “One of a Kind”, were based on the findings of Sawday’s inspectors and feedback from guests.
