Suffolk Coastal MP Therese Coffey highlighted National Apprenticeship Week by visiting a Felixstowe company to meet two of its young trainees.

During her visit to SPR Trailers in Walton Avenue, Dr Coffey was shown round by managing director, Simon Rivers, and met apprentices Luke Fisher and Callum Gooderham.

She said: “As part of our long-term economic plan to create more private-sector jobs the Government is making the provision of apprenticeships a top priority.

“The two apprentices at SPR are part-funded by the Coastal Communities Fund provided by the Government and administered through Suffolk County Council. Earning while you learn was a very attractive proposition to Luke and Callum and I would encourage others who are starting out in employment or looking to re-train to consider an apprenticeship.”
