BASEPOINT Ipswich, the managed business space centre on the town’s Ransomes Europark, has launched a new partnership with the charity Cancer Campaign in Suffolk (CCIS).

The initiative was timed to mark the fourth anniversary of the centre which now houses 71 businesses, many of which attended the launch of the new partnership.

Centre manager Michelle Wootton, who was at the centre when it first opened, said: “It was great to celebrate this occasion with our licensees. It was also the perfect opportunity to launch our new partnership with CCIS, a charity which aims to improve access to high quality information and support services to cancer patients and their carers in Suffolk.

“We initially chose CCIS as our charity because of the support they’ve given to our team in recent years, as well as the local community. We look forward to taking part in many fundraising initiatives in 2013, and building awareness of their work in the local community.”

Karen Hare, chief executive of Cancer Campaign in Suffolk, added: “We’re over the moon that Basepoint Ipswich has chosen to support us this year.

“Its fundraising activity will pay for the charity to continue supporting the Suffolk community, particularly the families and children of people who are undergoing cancer treatment and therapy.”

Basepoint Business Centres, which specialise in the development and operation of flexible business, innovation and enterprise centres, is owned by The ACT Foundation, a UK grant-making charity, dedicated to improving the quality of life of those in need.
