A musical entrepreneur working with schools has scooped a national award.
Sam Robson of Ipswich hit the right note with judges at the Hewlett Packard (HP) Smart Business Awards 2013 on Wednesday, as he took the Next Generation prize, celebrating business owners aged 25 or under.
He launched Industry Education in Music (IEM) in November 2012 and specialises in working hand-in-hand with the music industry to deliver curriculum relevant modern music education to secondary schools across the UK.
The awards, aimed at celebrating the best achievements of the UK’s small and medium-sized enterprises community, were staged at the Serpentine Sackler Gallery in Kensington Gardens.
HP chief of staff for the UK and Ireland, Susan Bowen said it had been “overwhelmed” by the volume of entries for this year’s awards.
