HAIR salon Baiss and Co based ion St Peter’s Street, Ipswich, has opened a new academy to ensure its graduate stylists are a cut above the rest.

The new academy, in nearby St Nicholas Street, has been set up to provide jobs for the graduate apprentices who train at the main salon.

There are currently four graduate stylists working at the academy – Emilie, Libbie, Jess and Chelsea.

Manager Jason Saxby helps support the stylists. “It’s such a great concept and something I love doing,” he said. “I’ve been a hairdresser for 25 years plus now and for me to be able to use my skills and education to help others, it’s fantastic.

“It’s been very successful so far,” he added. “Considering we’ve only been open for a few weeks, the response has been fantastic – overwhelming in fact.”
