East Anglian specialist recruitment firm polkadotfrog is celebrating its 10th anniversary − and is looking forward to its next decade confident mood.

Founding directors Lucy Tufts and Jane Harris, and fellow director Emma Cotton who joined in 2010, report positive signs of economic recovery in the form of a 38% increase in business in the last quarter.

Emma Cotton, director at the Ipswich branch of the firm, which also has offices in Cambridge and Norwich, attributes the recent growth to growing confidence in the economy along with the firm’s relationship-focused approach with its recruiter clients and a solid understanding of client and candidate needs.

She said: “We pride ourselves on the relationships we have built. The last 10 years have been a lot of hard work and we are now reaping the benefits of this.

“It’s been a fantastic year with a growing number of businesses taking on more permanent staff, as well as temporary staff at busy times. Things have definitely picked-up in recruitment, which has been helped by the economy and the power of social media as people develop industry connections and network online.”

The company specialises in office, sales and marketing, finance, HR, IT, legal and shipping and transport sectors across all levels for permanent, temporary and contract positions.

In a bid to cement its position in the market, polkadotfrog has launched a new service to recruit executive candidates for high level senior positions and has also appointed two new senior members of staff.

Donna Minns, who is splitting her time between the Norwich and Ipswich offices, and Kelly Spinks, based within the Norwich team, have joined the company, taking the total number of polkadotfrog staff to 13.

The company celebrated its 10th birthday with a team meal, a trip to Newmarket Racecourses and a personalised polkadotfrog cake which it donated to the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity in Cambridge. It is also working on a new website which will be launched before the end of the year.

  • Neither are all agencies. If the "old job centres" were providing a relevant and good service there would be no need for agencies as you see them. Businesses will not pay fees for a service if they can get it for free. Why would they?? There are various regulations, such as AWR that reputable agencies work within to protect their workers.
