Colchester-based chartered accountants and business advisers firm Griffin Chapman has made Dan Aldworth a partner.

A proud Colchestrian, Dan studied A Levels at The Sixth Form College and instead of going to university, he set his sights on training to be an accountant.

Dan joined Griffin Chapman in August 1999 as an accounts junior, and proceeded to study towards his AAT qualification attaining this in 2001. He moved on to become a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2004.

He become a manager and subsequently senior manager, but remained focused upon becoming a partner of Griffin Chapman.

“This is an important development for me personally, and an exciting time for Griffin Chapman with the continued growth in all areas including our family business sector and charities and education sector,” he said.


: : Estate agents Fenn Wright, which has seven branches along the A12 corridor in Essex and Suffolk, has welcomed leading rural partner David Ward MRICS as a new full partner in the company.

David has been with Fenn Wright for 11 years, joining its rural division at Colchester from Savills. His roots are in the north east of England where he attended Durham School, heading south for further education at the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester (now the Royal Agricultural University). He holds a BSc (Hons) in Rural Land Management and an MSc in advanced farm management. He met his future wife, Clemency, while in Cirencester and followed her back to East Anglia where her family live.

At Fenn Wright, David spent some time as head of commercial management until returning to his rural roots about six years ago and becoming the leading rural partner in charge of the majority of rural clients. His role is diverse, covering sales, acquisitions, management and professional duties on behalf of private clients, corporations and institutions.

: : Norwich insolvency lawyer Frank Brumby has been appointed chair of insolvency trade body R3 in the East of England, taking over from Cambridge-based insolvency expert Shay Lettice.

R3’s Eastern region branch is one of the most active in the country, with over 80 members specialising in advising companies and individuals in financial difficulty.

A director at law firm Isadore Goldman, which has offices in Norwich and London, Frank specialises in all aspects of corporate and personal insolvency and bank recovery. He is rated by respected legal commentators Chambers and Partners as a “leading individual” for restructuring and insolvency work in East Anglia.

In accepting his appointment, Frank stressed his intention to help lead the national debate on issues affecting insolvency and business restructure.

“I will be representing the R3 Eastern region committee at national level to lobby Government and help shape industry reform in the most positive way. We will also continue our strong support of our members at local level to ensure businesses and individuals receive the best advice,” he said.
