Movers & Shakers: Jeevan Singh takes over from Glyn Mitchell at Green Cross Pharmacy in Bramford

Jeevan Singh has become the new owner of a Bramford pharmacy. After 30 years of service to residents of Bramford village, Glyn Mitchell has retired from the Green Cross Pharmacy.
The pharmacist, who worked alongside his wife and daughter, was well known for walking to work. He lived on the east side of Ipswich, walking some five-and-a-half-miles to work each morning and five-and-a-half miles back.
Jeevan, who is from Stevenage in Hertfordshire, probably won’t be following in Glyn’s footsteps and walk to work, but plans to relocate to the area in the near future. He has worked as a locum pharmacist for several well-known high street chains and plans to further invest into the business and extend the services currently offered.
Mark Page of Christie & Co in Ipswich, who handled the sale, said: “Glyn was a popular figure in the village and will be missed but I feel that Bramford will benefit from the changes that Jeevan plans to implement and we wish him all the very best.”
: : Colchester-based off-shore wind power service provider CWind has appointed Chris Randle, formerly of Siemens Wind Power, as executive chairman of its board of directors.
Andy White, non-executive director of CWind and chairman of CTruk Group, the parent company of CWind, said: “Chris will be taking over from me as executive chairman. : : SEH director Jack Davey is retiring after more than 25 years at the helm of the Ipswich-based construction firm.
Jack, who has played an integral role in the success of SEH French, has worked in the building and construction industry for his entire career. He began his working life as a bricklayer, before progressing through the ranks to become a director of SEH French in 1989.
Jack has been instrumental in developing and progressing SEH French over the years, taking the team from a small local building firm to a medium-sized multi-million pound thriving business.
The company praised his “helpful and non-adversarial approach” and vast knowledge and experience of the industry and said he would be sorely missed.
Director Simon Girling said: “Jack’s unwavering commitment to the role has been second to none and he has inspired many of the younger members of the team.
“Replacing Jack ‘like for like’ was always going to be impossible but we have had an internal restructure with Paul Rodwell stepping up to become operations director and he will be supported by two new contract managers. We have also taken on a further four team members to strengthen our existing team. So our future plans are driving forward and we look forward to making Jack proud of our success.”
Jack said: “I’ve loved my years in this industry and it’s remarkable how different it is now from where I began all those years ago.
“I am happily passing the baton over to Simon, Paul and the team to carry on and continue the growth and success that SEH French has enjoyed so far.”
: : Bury St Edmunds-based occupational wellbeing firm RehabWorks has boosted its workforce with two key appointments.
Following further significant contract wins for the rehabilitation-solutions specialist business, Chris Bartlett and Jenny Mason now join the case management and occupational health teams respectively.
Chris, 29, has been appointed as case management service lead. He previously worked for a private rehabilitation company, and has many years of experience in sports rehabilitation and a Masters degree in musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
Originally from Bristol, Chris won the Young Person of the Year honour in the industry-recognised Rehabilitation Awards 2012. He sits on the UK Case Management Society’s communications committee.
Jenny Mason takes the role of occupational health service lead, after working as a consultant in occupational health and previously being employed as a specialist cardiology nurse.
Jenny is focused on achieving SEQOHS (Safe Effective Quality Occupational Health Service) accreditation within her new role.
Chief executive Andy Holdcroft said: “The recruitment of these two key members of staff comes at a great time for RehabWorks, on the back of some significant contract wins.
“The business has gained huge momentum in terms of national recognition in the last 12 months, and we continue to build on that with our internal practices to nurture our staff, and our external approaches to improving client experiences.”
: : Award-winning social enterprise Realise Futures has boosted its Ipswich-based marketing and communications team with the appointment of Fiona Nicholls, 31, who has joined the company to look after events and information.
Fiona, who has a BA in marketing and media studies, previously worked as a marketing assistant dealing with events and exhibitions for Ipswich firm Watson and Hillhouse. Prior to this, she relocated from Ipswich to Surrey to work as a business analyst and events coordinator for the Royal Bank of Scotland for four years. She has also worked for Nidera UK on Ipswich’s Ransomes Europark.
She reports to marketing and communications manager Jane Sutton, at the company’s head office on Alpha Business Park in Whitehouse Road, Ipswich, and joins team member Gemma Adnams who is responsible for social media and internal communications.
Jane said: “We are delighted to welcome Fiona who joins us at a busy time as we have launched a marketing campaign this month to encourage people to buy their goods and services from social enterprises called Do A Great Deal www.doagreatdeal.co.uk.

Fiona attended the Suffolk Show last week with other staff from Realise Futures to showcasing the campaign aimed at getting people and businesses in Suffolk to do something good for someone else when they purchase a product or service from a social enterprise.
: : Harvey Doughty and Robert Hayward, both former product demonstrators at Ipswich-based commercial mower makers Ransomes Jacobsen, have been promoted to technical sales managers. The creation of the new roles reflects the firm’s recent review of sales strategy in the UK and Ireland and the creation of dedicated sales channels for golf and municipal.
They will be responsible for sales and demonstrations in their respective territories ensuring the smooth transition from initial demonstration through to the closing of the sale.
Harvey will be responsible for the golf sector in the north of England and his dealers include Lawn Mower Services, Platts Harris, Thompsons Groundcare, Gibson Grass Machinery, John Osman, Sharrocks Grass Machinery and Burrows Grass Machinery. He will report to Nick Brown, UK and Ireland sales manager – golf. Robert will be responsible for the municipal sector in the southeast of England and his dealers are Ernest Doe and Sons and Bartram Mowers. He will report to Will Carr, UK and Ireland sales manager – municipal.
Sales director Rupert Price said the firm had a policy of promoting talent from within.
