Ipswich-based marketing firm Crafted has appointed five new starters.
Paul Miller takes on the role of PPC executive to help promote the agency’s clients across the range of paid search channels, including Google AdWords, display and social media advertising. He excels in writing creative ad copy, having spent his university days editing a selection of art and entertainment magazines.
Ben Ward has been appointed as account manager. A graduate from Goldsmiths University London, Ben relocated to Ipswich for the position after spending time with a Brighton media agency, handling accounts for the likes of Russian Standard Vodka, Liberty of London and the BBC.
Covering a period of maternity leave, Emma Andrews comes on board as head of client services (acting), managing a team of account managers to shape clients’ on-going digital strategies. Her career spans 10 years of in-house and agency experience. She founded the online marketing function at outdoor adventure company GoApe and previously oversaw all digital activity at Towergate Insurance.
Andrew Fiddy joins Crafted’s creative department as senior designer with 14 years’ experience in website and digital design. He brings with him skills in branding, illustration, animation and user experience design, having previously worked as a graphic designer in New Zealand.
Paul Bloomfield , a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist, Paul has been appointed as developer within the technical team to produce efficient and functionally rich websites, apps and technical solutions for a range of clients across the UK and internationally.
Head of sales and marketing Tom Gillman said: “Adding new talent to the team provides us with the strength to take on more projects and maintain the level of service our clients have come to expect. It’s great to have them in our team.”
: : Gavin Keats has recently joined the commercial property team at Fenn Wright’s Ipswich office.
Gavin, a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) registered valuer, was born and raised in Ipswich, but left in the late 1990s to study at Oxford Brookes University.
He later joined Matthews & Goodman in the City of London where he qualified as a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and in 2003 joined Cushman & Wakefield working in the firm’s West End valuation team for 10 years. Gavin moved back home to Ipswich last year with his fiancée and will be providing valuation, consultancy and professional services.
Ipswich commercial partner Alistair Mitchell said he was delighted Gavin has joined the Ipswich office.
“Gavin is a very experienced valuer and has dealt with some significant national valuation instructions in the past for clients such as Jaguar Land Rover, Ford Motor Company, Tesco’s and Helical Bar as well as all the major banks.
“With the upturn in the economy and improvements in the local commercial market, Gavin’s recent return to home soil in Suffolk is very timely. I’m sure that he will prove to be a of great assistance and professional help to our clients and an important member of the commercial team.”
: : East Anglian based property consultants, auctioneers and valuers Cheffins has announced that Jonathan Stiff MRICS FAAV has joined the firm as a partner, based at the firm’s Ely office.
Jonathan has more than 25 years’ experience as a chartered surveyor and agricultural valuer working for national property agents Smiths Gore where he was previously partner in charge of its Newmarket office.
Bill King, chairman of Cheffins, said: “Jonathan brings with him considerable experience of working with some of the largest farm and rural businesses in the area and has the benefit of a wide range of property expertise. We very much look forward to him working with our rural teams based at Ely and Cambridge.”
: : Specialist food, farming and environment communications agency Kendalls has appointed Jon Neal as associate director. He will lead a project to identify growth areas for the agency, focusing on its strengths in agriculture, animal health, energy and the countryside.
Jon Neal joins from food and grocery research charity IGD where he spent the last six years as head of communications. Bringing in agency support from Portland for the first time in the organisation’s history, he helped shape IGD’s response to the horsemeat saga and ushered in a new era of communications and stakeholder engagement that included taking top chief executives from the food and grocery industry into Number 10 with unemployment initiative Feeding Britain’s Future three years ago.
Jon said: “It’s an exciting time to join Kendalls. The horsemeat scandal raised levels of government and consumer scrutiny of the food chain higher than ever. We’re well positioned to help the farming community be part of the positive story British food and agriculture has to tell. : : Fargo Systems, which provides transport management software, has appointed David Cracknell as application support analyst within the customer services team, based at the firm’s head office in East Bergholt.
General manager Steve Collins said: “David’s addition to the team is great news for us, his skill set and experience is a fantastic match for what we do. David will be supporting our customers and helping us to ensure they have a great experience with us.”

: : A motoring specialist from Norfolk is transferring his skills and expertise to help strengthen two Suffolk businesses. Jonny Hudson has been appointed as sales manager for both Wolsey Van Centre in Ipswich and Volkswagen Van Centre in Bury St Edmunds.
The 31-year-old has moved from King’s Lynn and will be responsible for maintaining existing relationships with businesses and van operators in the area as well as establishing new ones.
Jonny secured the promotion after impressing management within the Marriott Motor Group, which owns the two commercial vehicle van centres, when he was the business manager at its Volkswagen car retailer in Kings Lynn.
Jonny said: “I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of my job and I’m delighted my career has reached new heights. The Marriott Motor Group is a fantastic company to work for and ever since I started at the King’s Lynn site, I knew it was an organisation I’d like to progress within.
“Me and my family are currently moving to Stowmarket so I can be based within a perfect distance of both van centres and I’m grateful that the company is supporting me through the transition.”
Jonny’s love for motors was ignited when he started working as a sales executive at Marshall Ford in Kings Lynn. He then went on to become a business manager at Marshall Toyota in Peterborough until 2012 when he decided to move to King’s Lynn Volkswagen.
David Nichols, head of business at Wolsey Van Centre and Volkswagen Van Centre (Bury St Edmunds), said: “We are delighted to welcome Jonny to the team. We feel confident that his knowledge, enthusiasm and proven track record will help to grow the commercial vehicle presence across Suffolk.”
