Accountancy firm Grant Thornton has welcomed a new partner to its Ipswich office.
Tim Taylor, who has more than a decade of experience at senior level working for two other international business advisory firms, has been based in the town for the last seven years.
During that time, he supported a variety of clients from entrepreneurial, fast growing start-ups to FTSE listed companies operating across a range of sectors, with a particular focus on food and drink businesses and the renewable energy sector.
In his new role at Grant Thornton, he will focus on helping ambitious, growing organisations across Suffolk and the wider region to reach their full potential.
“Grant Thornton has an exceptionally strong practice across the region and a highly talented team in Ipswich which I am delighted to become part of,” he said.
“East Anglia is home to many dynamic, forward-thinking businesses and we should be rightly proud of these.

The founder of Woodbridge-based schools specialist Gemstones Education Services has been made an approved associate of new education body the Institute of Education Advisers.
Eithne Leming, a former headteacher, founded her firm in 2012.
“I am delighted to have been accepted as a full associate member of the Institute of Education Advisers,” said Eithne.
Gemstones, is currently helping a number of East of England and London-based schools and teachers.
Anne Gordon, finance director of Ipswich-based MSC (UK) Ltd, the UK agent for global container shipping line, Mediterrranean Shipping Company, has joined the board of Suffolk Chamber of Commerce in Greater Ipswich.
Anne replaces Peter Johnson who stands down after many years’ service as a board member.
“I’ve lived in the area for over 25 years and raised my family here. I would like to be able to play a positive role in the community in which my children have grown up and now work,” she said.
Ruth Neave has been made legal director and head of public sector at Ipswich-based law firm Birketts.
She joins from a local authority and specialises in contracts and procurement, EU Procurement Regulations, large multi-disciplinary projects, shared service arrangements, strategic partnerships and corporate governance.
Chief executive Jonathan Agar said she was a “highly experienced local government solicitor”.
Andy Dransfield, head of building surveying at construction consultancy Pick Everard, has been appointed chair of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) East of England regional board.
As chair, Andy will lead the board in delivering a range of objectives to set and improve local industry standards and encourage more talent into the industry by raising awareness of the vast range of careers available in the land, property and construction sectors for people from all backgrounds.
Employment lawyer Charlotte Holman has joined Essex law firm Birkett Long.
Charlotte, who will be based at Basildon, studied at The Boswells School in Chelmsford, and went on to read law at the University of Leicester. She took a Legal Practice Course at Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford.
The 28-year-old completed her training contract with an Essex firm and qualified as a solicitor in 2016. She has gained experience with law firms in Chelmsford and Wickford.
