Courier company Tendring Express Services has been named as the APC Overnight network’s Anglian Regional Depot of the Year.

Tendring Express, which is based at Wix, near Manniingtree, and has increased the number of parcels it handles by nearly 15% over the past 12 months, beat off competition from 14 other depots in the region.

The businesses were assessed on operational efficiency, customer service and on-time deliveries, with the north Essex courier taking the top spot thanks to its record of going above and beyond to provide an exceptional nationwide delivery service.

Receiving the award from comedian Hugh Dennis, who hosted the APC Overnight awards ceremony, depot principal Nigel Hargreaves said: “We’re extremely pleased to be able to take home this award.

“It’s a ringing endorsement of all the hard work that goes into providing local residents and businesses with a truly first class nationwide delivery and collection service. I’d like to extend my thanks to all of our staff members without whom this wouldn’t of been possible.”

Gary Hall, national network manager at APC Overnight, said: “It’s important to acknowledge the consistently high customer satisfaction levels that Tendring Express Services Limited achieved throughout 2013.

“Exceptional delivery success is something we never take for granted at APC Overnight and our decision to crown them Anglian Regional Depot of the Year is something I have thoroughly enjoyed celebrating.”
