Woolverstone Marina, on the River Orwell, near Ipswich, will be the venue later this month for the first East Anglian Boat Show.

The event, on Saturday and Sunday June 21 and 22, will feature a number of manufacturers including Broom Boats which will be showing its newest model, the 430, which was unveiled at the Düsseldorf Boat Show earlier this year.

Other exhibitors will include motor yacht manufacturer Elling Yachts, small river and speed boat specialist Viking Mouldings and new and used boat sales centre Norfolk Yacht Agency.

Visitors will be able to browse a wide selection of new and used boats, ranging from 20ft to 45ft vesselsm and there will be onshore demonstrations by the RNLI covering sea safety, lifejacket checks and boat maintenance.

There will also be activities for younger visitors, including a bouncy castle, and refreshments will be available from the marina’s onsite bar and restaurant.

Trevor Barnes, the marina’s manager, said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming as many members of the local community into the marina as possible for the first East Anglian Boat Show. It looks to be a brilliant weekend and will give visitors the chance to explore a wide range of boats and marine products from some great brands, whilst also offering fun activities to keep younger visitors entertained.”

MDL Marinas, which owns 19 marinas and boatyards along the south and east coasts of England, including Woolverstone, is holding the show in conjunction with the British Marine Federation East Anglia and the Royal Yachting Association’s Active Marina Programme.

The show will be open from 10am to 5pm both days, with parking and entry free.
