An organisation dedicated to promoting business Woodbridge has appointed a public relations agency to support it in a drive to boost tourism.

Choose Woodbridge has selected Ipswich-based Prominent PR whose editorial director, Ellen Widdup, lives in Woodbridge and will manage the account.

James Lightfoot, chairman of Choose Woodbridge, said: “The Prominent team have really impressed us with their enthusiasm and ideas for taking Choose Woodbridge forward.

“With so many members all living and working in a thriving community, we have got so many compelling stories to tell and we’re confident that Prominent is the perfect partner to help us to do this.”

Ellen Widdup added: “We are absolutely delighted to be working with Choose Woodbridge and intend to help them to continue to celebrate the town as an incredible place to live, work and visit.”

Choose Woodbridge, originally established in 2003 as Woodbridge Town Centre Management, is currently planning the town’s Christmas lights switch on and a Christmas street fair in The Thoroughfare.

It will also be supporting the Christmas market and the festive window dressing competition which is open to businesses in the town and is being organised by Gobbitt and Kirby.
