Welcome to the EADT Suffolk Food and Drink Awards
EADT Suffolk prides itself on promoting the best of Suffolk, whether it be people,
organisations, events or places to visit. This is why, heading into 2009 and all the challenges it faces, we are delighted to launch our fourth EADT Suffolk Food & Drink Awards.
The objective of these awards is to recognise and celebrate the county's finest and leading purveyors in this ever-growing industry. It has become evident since starting these awards, how interest is evolving and changing in this diverse and exciting sector. People are more and more concerned about where their food comes from, how did it get there, who prepared it, made it, cooked it, sold it… and that's what these awards are all about - recognising the people and organisations that make it happen.
We are extremely lucky in this area, to have in our midst some of the most dedicated and hard-working producers, retailers and suppliers, who are passionate about what they do.
This year we have twelve awards up for grabs - which we feel broadly encompass the food and drink industry in this area of the country. Details of each category can be found on this site. You can enter yourself or be nominated for entry and details of the shortlisting andjudging process are also detailed here.
We would like to extend our thanks once again to leading Suffolk brewery, Adnams – who have been supporting the awards since their conception in 2006 - Adnams have provided a wealth of experience and expertise in developing these awards which command more and more interest each year. We would also like to thank our category sponsors – Promotion Wine, The West Wing at Ickworth, Hamish Johnston Fine Cheeses, Tastes of Anglia, Gallery Thea, BBC Suffolk, Waitrose Sudbury, Southwold Pier, colnestoves + Esse, Marriages, the Master Millers and Debenvale.
In 2008, we had entries from around 100 organisations and received over 16,000 votes - proof that this industry is thriving and growing and that there is a genuine interest from the Suffolk public in the source, preparation and presentation of their food.
We look forward to receiving your votes.
Good Luck!
