Southwold PierBest Suffolk Product

This is a new category for 2008 to recognise the hard work and dedication of Suffolk producers in the field of innovative products. 

Entries are invited from companies and/or individuals who have created a specific product/range using Suffolk grown produce or who are based in the local area. 

Judges will be looking in particular at the following:

  • Product innovation, development and establishment of consumer need
  • Explanation of ingredients used in produce – evidence of locally sourced or produced content
  • Production process, eg. using natural processes, chemical free, no additives
  • Range of products where appropriate
  • Presentation of food – colour and display of goods
  • Value for money
  • Evidence of preparation and storage facilities
  • Evidence of product marketing and distribution – availability to public, unique selling point
  • Use of packaging

Hillfarm Oils, Heveningham

Marybelle/Greenbottle, Walpole
Local dairy producers Marybelle have been working with a Suffolk inventor for the last three years to produce a biodegradable milk bottle.  Made of over 90% waste paper, the bottle reuses the Earth’s natural resources and as producers of a local product and mindful of such environmental issues, Marybelle have championed the use of this innovative bottle for their home-produced milk.
