The Tourism in Suffolk Awards organised by Archant, publishers of the East Anglian Daily Times and Evening Star, were launched in 2006 to showcase the professionalism, and expertise that goes into this vital industry.
This year, the fourth year that the awards have been held, there is a degree of optimism amongst those involved in the tourism industry in Suffolk. The same economic circumstances that have lead many people to cancel their holidays abroad this year also present opportunities for new business amongst those in the leisure industry locally.
Working with Choose Suffolk, the Tourism in Suffolk Awards raise the profile of tourism in the county and with 12 categories there are opportunities for all kinds of businesses and organisations to enter
The awards have shown that standards in the industry are constantly being raised and the awards have the potential to increase visitors to successful businesses. This year many of the category winners will be automatically shortlisted for the regional East of England Tourism awards – a fantastic way to get your organisation in front of a wider audience.
Organisations are encouraged to nominate themselves for 11 of the award categories and the public are able to vote for their own favourite experience with the People's Award.
The judging is conducted by category sponsors, Choose Suffolk, the East Anglian Daily Times and the Evening Star.
