Blog: Obama - One year on

WHAT were your feelings this time last when Barack Obama was elected President of the United States? Was it joy, renewed hope, or thank God that the George Bush era was about to become a closed book?

To me, it was a combination of all three, but I do not resile from my stated opinion during the 2008 campaign that I would have preferred the Republican candidate John McCain in the White House.
