THOUSANDS of festival-goers soaked up the sunshine on the first day of Harvest at Jimmy's.

The two-day event music and food festival at Jimmy's Farm at Wherstead, near Ipswich, got off to a great start yesterday.

Pop-rock band Athlete brought the first day of the sold-out event to a close last night after music fans enjoyed performances from Jose Gonzalez, Badly Drawn Boy, Wallis Bird and Suffolk band The Cheek.

KT Tunstall, who headlines the music tonight, also made a surprise guest appearance with folk singer Sam Lewis.

The children's area proved incredibly popular, with a tent themed on hit BBC show In The Night Garden.

The music continues today with performances from KT Tunstall and Seth Lakeman while chefs appearing include James Martin and James Wong.
