IPSWICH: Legendary rockers Status Quo have pulled out of their two-nights at the Regent after frontman Francis Rossi was diagnosed with a chest infection.

The band had been due to play sell-out concerts at the venue tonight and tomorrow night in front of nearly 3,500 people.

Another concert at the Cambridge Corn Exchange tomorrow has also been postponed - although Status Quo are hoping to go ahead with shows at Oxford on Friday and Saturday.

The East Anglian section of the tour is to be re-scheduled for May next year and tickets for the shows will be valid for those dates.

The band's Stoke on Trent date earlier this month was postponed until May 4 next year, and the Ipswich shows are expected to be rescheduled for dates near then.

Regent manager David Mansfield urged fans to hold on to their tickets and said anyone not able to make the shows in May would get a refund.
