Southwold is en elegant town is surrounded by miles of peaceful countryside and award-winning beaches, the heritage resort of Southwold is a haven from modern day life.

Southwold, though little more than a village in size, has been a town size it received its charter from Henry VII in 1489. The town looks out over clean sandy beaches to Sole Bay, the scene of a battle between the combined British and French fleets and the Dutch fleet in 1672..

Southwold Pier - the original pier was begun in October 1899 - a century later work started on building a new pier and in July 2001 it was opened by the Duke of Gloucester..

Southwold's famous colourful beach huts date back to the early part of the last century. Many of these huts have been owned by local families for many years and have become very expensive to buy.

Adnams Sole Bay Brewery still brew in the town and make their local deliveries using a horse-drawn dray.
