Openness of the Conservatives

WHATEVER anyone thinks of the Conservative Party, at least they are open in one respect - their prospects in next month's local government elections.

I've been e-mailed their latest briefing document, which goes into great detail on the mechanics and logistics of the May 4 poll, with council by council analysis of which seats are being contested.

It's what I call a real service to the media. Pity Labour's expending all its energies on their unfunny Dave the Chameleon campaign that it has no time to send out a similar document to the Tories.

As for the Liberal Democrats - has anyone heard from at this election? I've been canvassed at home, but  the lack of media campaigning seems to suggest they are expecting a set of very bad results in this the first test of Sir Ming Campbell's leadership.

That's good to hear, are any local councillors blogging?
