Twits

MY good friend Tory MP Mike Penning has called Colchester MP Bob Russell a twit. But let's face it, there are plenty of twits in the Commons, and they're not just confined to the Liberal Democrat benches.

(One day, I'll tell the story of why one twittish MP is known as Thumbs Up, but even this blog - which occasionally has been known to break free of the bounds of good taste - is published on the website of what is still a family newspaper).

Russell caused much mirth by trying to get the phrase "black economy" banned. A gentle word of advice to the Voice of Colchester, even though I know it won't be appreciated. Steer clear of the bars in London popular with  New Zealanders or you'll end up in a massive punch up with suuporters of the All Blacks, who to a man (sorry person) are no doubt avid fans of Fight Club.
