Gordon bottles it

SO after all the hints and winks, Gordon Brown is not going to call an election,. according to the BBC.

With the economy said to about to go belly up, it had been expected that Brown would go to the country. Apparently, the Tories are surging ahead in the opinion and especially the marginal seats and Brown could have lost. He and his hench men should be ashamed of allowing all the speculation to dominate the Labour and Tory conferences.

Yet again, I call for fixed term parliaments to end the manipulation of the electorate and the media. That won't happen - the next election may not take place until 2010.
