Hmm [^o)] What IS LOCAL interest?!
I am concerned that there is such a lack of interest from local news regarding local causes & raising funds for them.  I speak from first-hand experience based on fundraising efforts for IPSWICH SPECIAL CARE BABY (NEONATAL) UNIT (Reg Charity No 1048827) since April of last year & having no support or encouragement from local news.

We raise funds for the UNIT and are totally reliant on the kindness, generosity & support of local 'sociable' people taking part in our events, offering services & promoting the word about us.  Funds are raised via Admissions, Ticket Sales, Raffles, Auctions, Donations & Participation at our events.  (*plug* Angel [A] full details on website www.freewebs.com/social-distractions)

We recently raised an amazing £600 for a one night event, which was fantastic.  We are having another such night on 17th March & there is total lack of interest from newspapers etc, despite it being LOCAL cause, in the community, so LOCAL news!

It is unfortunate in the climate we live in that, despite having a NHS service, money still has to be raised for vital equipment & services to enable LIVES to be SAVED in our own local hospital.  Even more unfortunate that said fundraising cannot be supported by even local news to help with the efforts of volunteers that give their time to raise the funds with events in their local community with no personal gain.

Just what DOES qualify for LOCAL INTEREST?!?!  [:( Huh? [:^)]]

You don't get if you don't ask ...

Be who you are & say what you feel cos those who mind don't matter & those that matter don't mind!
