Fans packed into the Weston Homes Stadium this afternoon for the FA Cup clash between Colchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

The match was a sell out and the atmosphere was lively.

Spurs went into the second half one-nil up, and then secured a second before Colchester found the goal - signalling an almighty roar from the crowd.

The Colchester United goal was a deflection, as was Spurs’ second.

They may not have matched up to the Premier League club but Colchester certainly showed promise, which might help them in their fight for survival.

  • The game hinged on the two injuries so early on and the very clear penalty which for some reason the referee failed to award Colchester. It would have been a much closer game. Now we've got to win three games on the trot and get out of the relegation zone, not impossible.
