A MAN has been taken to hospital following an accident on the A12 involving a lorry.

It happened shortly after 7.30am this morning close to Thorington, near Blythburgh.

A silver Volkswagen Golf is believed to have been in collision with a Volvo lorry.

The male driver of the Golf was cut free and taken to James Paget Hospital with a possible broken hip and ribs.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said they were not believed to be life threatening injuries.

The A12 was closed until shortly before 10am.
