A14: Pony on the loose for an hour before police catch it

PUBLISHED: 06:23 28 March 2014 | UPDATED: 06:23 28 March 2014

Police have cornered a runaway pony which caused the A14 to close.

Several drivers called Suffolk Constabulary after seeing the animal in the road near Trimley.

The pony was first reported on the loose at about 5am. The A14 was closed in the Felixstowe direction for half an hour from about 5.30am when it was seen in road.

A force spokeswoman said the animal, described as a white pony, was caught in Chelsworth Road.

Officers are making enquiries as to who the pony’s owners are. Anyone with information should call police on 101.
