Paramedics and an air ambulance crew were called to a Suffolk beach this morning following reports of a woman having suffered a fit.

The incident happened near the Martello tower on Aldeburgh beach.

An ambulance was sent to the scene, along with support from the air ambulance, which landed at about 11am.

An ambulance spokeswoman said that a woman, thought to be in her 40s, had suffered a suspected seizure on the beach.

It is not yet clear if the woman required hospital treatment.
