A TALENTED father and son are proving that artistic flair runs in the family with their joint exhibition at a Suffolk gallery.

Derek Nice and son Adam have been displaying sea-inspired work at Aldeburgh Cinema Gallery for the last week.

Today is the final day of Floating and Flying, which combines Derek’s maritime miscellany with Adam’s modern commercial style.

Derek recycles wood and debris from storm broken fishing boats, woodyards and skips, to create his sea-inspired pieces, while Adam, who runs Absolute Design and Marketing, spends much of his spare time taking graphic pictures of the sunrise and sunset on Aldeburgh beach.

“For too long, the schedules have cried out for a show in which dedicated amateurs, toiling day and night, handcraft sophisticated automatons built on the delicate interplay of hand-wired servo motors with custom-built circuit boards and fingertip motion control, just to see them get smashed to pieces by a dustbin carrying a massive hammer.
