An elderly golfer died while playing a round of golf in Suffolk this morning, police have confirmed.

Police, paramedics and the air ambulance were called to Aldeburgh Golf Club shortly after 9am following reports a man in his 80s had died on the golf course.

A spokesman for Suffolk Constabulary confirmed the man died at the scene.

His cause of death remains unknown.
