Ardleigh: Second crash on A120 this morning

11:49 01 February 2013

Archant

A SECOND crash has happened on the same road in Essex this morning, near a notorious accident blackspot.

The A120 was closed eastbound between the Crown Interchange in Colchester and the A1333 junction in Great Bromley after a three-vehicle crash.

The crash took place at 10.34am this morning on the eastbound carriageway at Great Bromley, shortly after a two-vehicle crash on the same road where a woman was cut from her car by firefighters.

Two people were taken to Colchester General Hospital with minor injuries.

All eastbound traffic was diverted off the A120 onto the A133 and motorists experienced long delays.

Campaigners have been fighting for years for improvements to the junction, which has been the scene of fatal crashes.
