Two drivers were taken to hospital this evening after a car crash in Suffolk that left one with life threatening injuries.

Police were called to reports of a collision between a green Peugeot 206 and silver Honda HR-V Vetec 4x4 on the A146 in Barnby near Lowestoft at around 5.45pm.

The Peugeot driver, a local man in his early 30s, was reported to have suffered “life changing or life threatening” injuries. The East of England Air Ambulance was called to transport him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, however, it was determined that the man was not fit to fly and so he was taken to Norfolk and Norwich Hospital by land ambulance.

The Honda driver was also taken to hospital for a check over.

The road was closed until around 11.15pm.
