A man died after a crash involving a van near Bury St Edmunds last night.

The male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on the B1111 in Barningham near the junction with Chare Road.

Police were called by the ambulance service to the incident involving a Vauxhall van at just after 7.50pm yesterday.

The road was closed until 1.15am today while a full investigation was carried out.

Detectives are urging witnesses to come forward. Call 101.
