A SIGN celebrating the close links between villagers and Amercian servicemen was unveiled on Saturday.

The motif featuring a Union Jack flag next to the US Stars and Stripes has been added to the village sign in Beck Row. Members of Beck Row Parish Council, the British-American Committee, and RAF Mildenhall worked together to produce the sign, which was designed by a British Ministry of Defence employee.

The new panel, funded by the British-American Committee, symbolizes the close partnership that has developed between the base and the local community in the 60 years the US Airforce has been at RAF Mildenhall.
