Schoolchildren performed a poignant play depicting life during the First World War.
Benhall Primary School pupils presented A Letter From the Trenches, set between August 1914 and January 1915, and about life on the front line from the perspective of those involved and left at home.
The cast of pupils from years five and six - and some from year four - closed the performance by reciting the names of people from the local area who lost their lives in the war.
Names were also projected onto a screen at the back of the stage, along with photographs of some of the fallen.
Head teacher Chris Gallagher said: “We’re very proud of the performance. It’s a sad play and lots of the audience were moved. It’s important for the children to learn about the war - particularly in this centenary year.”
Yesterday, the pupils continued to reflect on the First World War on a trip to see War Horse on stage.
