Firefighters in Essex tackled a barn fire in Braintree in the early hours of this morning.

Crews from Braintree, Coggeshall and Halstead were called to Bovingdon Road at 12.22am.

Once on the scene they reported the roof and rear of the barn, which measured 10x6m, was alight.

Three hose reels and one main jet was used to tackle the blaze, which was extinguished by 1.56am.
