Braintree: House damaged by fire

The upper floor of a terraced house has been badly damaged by fire.

The incident took place in Twelve Acres, Braintree at around 9pm yesterday evening.

Three fire crews - two from Braintree, one from Halstead - spent around an hour battling the fire, putting it out at 9.40pm.

Firefighters said 25% of the upper floor of the mid-terraced house was damaged by fire, with smoke damage to the rest of the property.
