Fire services were called to a bandstand fire in the Braintree and Bocking public gardens this evening.

A crew from Braintree and a crew from Halstead extinguished the thatched roof of a bandstand, which was 20% alight.

They were called to the seen at 6.04pm and using one hose reel jet, the blaze had been extinguished by 6.40pm.
