Archant

A person was rescued after the vehicle they were in crashed in west Suffolk yesterday.

Fire crews were called to the B1106 in Brandon at around 5.20pm following a single-vehicle collision.

Upon arrival firefighters discovered one person who needed assistance getting out of the vehicle.

Crews had the incident was under control by around 5.40pm, with the casualty being left with ambulance medics.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: “We were called around 5pm to a car that had overturned – a paramedic officer and an ambulance attended.

“A man in his 20s suffered a head injury and was taken to West Suffolk Hospital for further treatment - his condition wasn’t thought to be life threatening.”

In a separate incident crews were called to a car fire on the A14, in the Bury St Edmunds direction, near Needham Market at around 6.25pm.

The car was “well alight” with two hose reels and two sets of breathing apparatus used to fight the fire before it was under control at around 6.50pm.
