A young girl was taken ill on an Essex beach yesterday.

Thames Coastguard received a call from the Essex ambulance service stating that a three-year-old child was unwell on the beach at Brightlingsea at about 2.30pm.

Clacton Coastguard Rescue Team attended and helped take her to the waiting ambulance.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said the girl appeared to have suffered a seizure.

“She was taken to Colchester General Hospital in a stable condition,” the spokesman added.
