Norfolk police confirmed today that the two people who died in the fatal collision on the A143 at Ellingham, near Bungay, were a couple from Hampshire.
Officers are renewing their appeal for witnesses to the incident involving a Vauxhall Meriva, a Renault Scenic and a Ford Focus at around 1.45pm on Friday, May 9.
The male driver of the Meriva, aged in his 80s, died at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital while his female passenger, aged in her 70s, died at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridgeshire. The couple were husband and wife.
No further information relating to either deceased will be released until formal identification has been carried out.
The coroner has been informed and an inquest will open in due course.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who believes they may have seen any of the vehicles prior to the collision or witnessed the incident itself.
