Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian is reported to have used threatening behaviour towards a motorist in Bury St Edmunds.

The incident happened at around 7.20pm on May 9 at the junction of Victoria Street and Kings Road.

The driver of the car, a woman in her forties, stopped to allow the suspect to cross just prior to the junction, at which point the pedestrian became aggressive.

He started shouting at the driver and then walked round to her side of the car and shoved the motorcycle helmet he was carrying towards her.

The passenger in the car got out and confronted the pedestrian, who then walked away towards the cemetery continuing to make threats.

The police would like to speak to the pedestrian, described as a white man, aged between 40-45 years-old, around 6ft 2in tall, of large build, with short black hair. He was wearing a burgundy jumper, blue jeans and carrying a black motorcycle helmet.

Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or believes they may know this man, is asked to contact Pc Jonathan Burke at Bury St Edmunds Police Station on 101.
