A 48-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with murder after a man was found collapsed in Bury St Edmunds.

Suffolk Police has today charged Mark Turner, from Green Lane, Cockfield, with the murder of Robin Lionnet, 42, from Ashwell Road, Bury.

Mr Lionnet was found collapsed in Ashwell Road in the early hours of yesterday morning and was taken to West Suffolk Hospital, Bury, where he was pronounced dead.

A post-mortem examination was carried out yesterday afternoon, and it initially appears Mr Lionnet died as a result of a stab wound.

Turner is being remanded in custody at the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre and will appear before Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

A cordon remains in place at Ashwell Road while officers continue with their investigation.
