Bury St Edmunds: Woman airlifted to West Suffolk Hospital in ‘life threatening’ condition after collapsing in Leech Walk

A woman, thought to be in her 60s, was airlifted to hospital in a “life threatening” condition after collapsing in Bury St Edmunds.

The patient was taken ill in Leech Walk shortly before 5pm today and was not breathing when paramedics arrived.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance service described her condition as “very serious, possibly life threatening”.

Two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle were sent to attend the patient as well as the air ambulance, which took her to West Suffolk Hospital.

Police have confirmed no suspicious device has been found after the Center Parcs resort in Elveden was evacuated this evening.
