Police are attempting to trace the driver of a car which struck a woman who was carrying a baby.

The incident happened between 9.15-9.30pm in Angel Hill on Friday.

The woman was walking across the car park when a small, dark-coloured car, reversed out of a space and collided with her, causing the baby to knock their head against the rear windscreen.

The baby suffered a minor bump to the head and was taken to a nearby medical centre for treatment.

Officers would like to speak to the driver of the car, described as a woman with shoulder-length blonde hair, about the incident.

The driver, or anyone who may have witnessed the collision, is asked to contact Pc Mike Blayney at Bury St Edmunds police station on 101.
